The Yizhuang Line, which was formerly designated ‘Line L2’, is just over 23 kilometres long and has 14 stations, including six underground.
Construction began on December 8, 2007 and the line opened on December 30, 2010.
Yizhuang Railway Station was only opened on 30 December 2018. Until then, passengers could travel only as far as Ciqu, even though the actual subway train had to continue to the terminus to reverse.
The Yizhuang Line has no artwork to speak of in any of its stations, though the design of the stations themselves shows that some thought has gone into an aesthetic look and feel. Interior decoration uses silver-grey in various shades as its main theme. Here is the inside of the station at Jiugong, which is similar to many of the others on the line.
