Line 17 is fully underground with a total length of 49.7 km and has been slowly opening in parts from 2021-2023. It is operated by Beijing MTR Corporation Limited.It is planned to run from the Future Science Park North station in Changping District to Jiahuihu station in Tongzhou District. When complete, the line will provide relief to the congestion on Line 5, Line 10 and Line 13.
Line 17 uses 8-car Type A rolling stock.
