The name "Mudanyuan" dates back to 1990 when a residential community was built to the east of Beijing Television Factory (known as the Beijing Peony Electronic Group). The community was then named after Peony, the brand of their products.
So it is not surprising that Mudanyuan's designs reflect elements of peony and cloisonné.
