These stone and copperplate reliefs hark back to transport in days gone by when humans walked the earth, invented the wheel, used oxen to pull carts and rode on horseback.
Apart from being the nearest station to Beijing’s World Park, Dabaotai is the home of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum, a museum built over the 2,000-year-old tombs of Western Han dynasty prince Liu Jian and his wife. Although the museum opened in 1983, it was closed in 2012 for renovation owing to flood damage.
