Xiyuan is one of the stations closest to the Summer Palace, and so unsurprisingly the small mural on the platform reflects this.
An early mural in the ticket hall had to be removed when Line 16 was built a few years later; but this has since been recitifed with a replacement mural in the ticket hall of Line 16 itself.
When planning this station, enough space was allowed to build another platform in between the platforms of Line 4 and Line 16 for a potential westward extension of Line 15.
Longevity Hill, created in 2009, can be found on one of the end walls of the platform.
