On July 19, 2008, Phase I of Line 10 entered operation ahead of the opening of the Olympic Games; and Bagou used to be the north-western terminus. During its construction, the project name of the station was "Wanliu", before it was officially renamed "Bagou".
These glass fronted murals, called ‘Rainbow’ and designed by the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University, can be found at the top of each of the four escalators running to/from the platforms below.
They are said to combine the themes of science and technology with agriculture... circuit boards and plants... reflecting man’s creative spirit.
