Lianhuaqiao translates as Lotus Bridge; so it is no surprise that the glass ripples along this mural, "The Depths of Lotus Root Flowers,"are indicative of a lotus pool, while the bronze artwork (which covers a fire door) is meant to represent a boat on the pool, together with lotus flowers. The overall design was by an artist called Chen Jianhong.
Unfortunately, the station workers don’t seem to have much regard for it, as whenever I have passed through this station, there have always been banners exhorting you to think about fire safety positioned in front of it!
The platform columns, however, are quite fetching.
