Xitucheng Station is situated close to the Yuan Dynasty City Wall Ruins Park, which was built on the ruins of the capital city walls of the Yuan Dynasty, which themselves were built between 1267 and 1276.
But this abstract mural in the station that features abstract blue diamond-shaped colour blocks of different shades overlapping one another, like ice cubes and silhouettes of tall buildings, appears to reflect more the existence of Beijing’s ‘Silicon Valley’ which straddles the area and is also covered by the next station, Zhichunli.
